It’s a common refrain that exercising can’t fix mental health problems such as depression and anxiety. It’s certainly true that exercising more won’t mean that you suddenly have perfect mental health, but physical exercise is still a useful tool to help you stay balanced. Exercise releases endorphins to improve your mood and it helps you to care for your physical health too, which can help with your mental health. A regular workout routine, whether you go to the gym three times a week or take a short walk every day, is a good thing to add to your life and delivers many benefits if you do it in the right way.


Create a Routine


Creating a routine is a great way to start exercising and stick to it. It also helps you to give structure to your time, which can be good to help you manage your mental health. If you exercise at the same time and on the same days each week, it can make it easier to commit to doing something new. Your exercise routine doesn’t have to be the same things over and over again, though. You can mix it up and try a few different activities.
