Dirty Dancing. It’s my go-to film when I’m happy, sad, drunk, bored – it’s one of my favourite films and an absolute classic.
Did anyone else watch it innocently at an early age in the late eighties/early nineties and be absolutely mortified when you discovered what went on? A bit like Grease, right?
Fifteen or more years ago I saw Dirty Dancing on stage in London’s West End and it was amazing – the seats in front of us were occupied by three coach-loads of Welsh women on a hen-do who had a whale of a time. Stand out moment was when Baby and Johnny, erm, dirty dance, and one woman shrieked ‘GET IN THERE BAYYBEEEEEEEE’ right at the sexy bit.
Anyways it’s once again on stage and it’s travelling around the UK, coming to The Orchard Theatre in Dartford from Monday 1st to Saturday 6th October 2018.
