Tuesday arrived and it was the day of the wedding – I was designated driver and we were staying about forty minutes from the venue which was near Torpoint. Be warned – this post is photo-heavy as the wedding venue was stunning!
What do we do with the dog?
I’d started flapping a few weeks previously about the dog – I’d hoped she could be left for a few hours at the caravan while we went to the wedding but the more I thought on it the more I panicked – plus the park wouldn’t allow her to be left on site in the caravan alone.
I started searching for kennels and boarding – I just wanted to find a local and friendly place our little Lucy-chops could stay for the day and overnight while we were at the wedding – and I stumbled across The Dog House, just down the road in Looe.
A quick phone call and we’d booked Lucy in for the day and one night – The Dog House do boarding, grooming, walking and do everything they can to make your dog feel at home. It was a few pounds more than a regular boarding kennels but this isn’t your regular boarding kennels – they are fantastic.
They even picked Lucy up from the holiday park and dropped her back to us – for no extra cost. I received photos and videos updating me on her day and I have to say they were just absolutely amazing from start to finish. I’m truly gutted that they aren’t nearer to us as I’d happily use them all the time.
I’d recommend The Dog House to anyone near to Looe – if you want your dog to be looked after, loved and pampered then they are the place to go! Check them out here 🙂
(This is totally not an ad by the way – I’m not being paid to say this; they were just awesome)
A wedding at Polhawn Fort
Being a bit of a history nerd the wedding was in my ideal location – a renovated gun battery south of Plymouth on the Cornish coast.
We had a beautiful day – the scenery was breathtaking and you could walk down to the beach. It was a lovely day, with lots of our lovely family and the wedding venue of dreams
We had a little bit of rain but all in all, a lovely day. If history is your thing there are a few forts and bits dotted along the coastline – it’s well worth checking out.
It was strange going to a wedding and bumping into family while on holiday – but a fab time was had by all.
We got home after midnight – the little man exhausted from breakdancing(!) and my husband slightly inebriated… it was a lovely feeling knowing we still had three days of holiday to enjoy!
