Today’s post got me a little excited; I do love piercings and tattoos.
If I had my way I’d be covered; well from the neck down anyway.
Piercing wise I have two holes per ear lob and the top of my ear pierced. I’m not a huge piercing person and I have no desire to have anything else pierced. Not even a Princess Albertina. Google it, I dare you.
I do have quite a few tattoos, I’ll explain each of them.
I had my first tattoo when I was 18; which was a plain boring butterfly on my right shoulder. The bloody thing faded quickly so it was touched up within a year. I had it for the simple reason I liked the picture.
My second was when I was 21 and I had a flower covering a tea-stain mark on my tummy below my belly button. It started out as a cute little thing and since growing and birthing a 9lb baby it now looks like a triffid with skid-marks through it. It will forever be covered.
Next up was a flower on my right ankle when I was 24ish. This one hurt. Again I liked the picture and thought it might look nice.
I had a few more butterflies and wording added to my shoulder age 26. I loved the phrase ‘just floating like a butterfly’ and had the wording added. Unfortunately without realising it became an unofficial tribute to Chaka Demus & Pliers.
Next I got bored one day and had a heart tattooed on my left wrist. The car was in for an MOT and I found a tattoo shop. No meanings again, you notice the pattern…
Last year I decided on the design I wanted on my right wrist and it was simple; my sons full name and date of birth. This one has meaning; it feels like he is always with me and it’s simple but full of meaning.
So that’s it – I have plans for more but no funds to get them!
