Review: Côte Brasserie, Maidstone

I met up with my best friend recently for a long overdue catch up and when I was invited to check out Côte Brasserie in Maidstone it seemed like the perfect excuse for an evening out. Côte Brasserie are a chain of restaurants dedicated to serving authentic French cuisine in a friendly environment – they are all about the details, promising excellent value for money and a welcoming and excellent dining experience.

The boy turns 4: chocolate nuggets and a rogue turd

Recently my little bundle of attitude celebrated his fourth birthday.  After opening his presents in 0.02 seconds we visited family and decided to have a McDonalds lunch(#NotAnAd) and a nice long walk along the beach.  We had planned to go to Brands Hatch but I didn’t have much money and I hoped some fresh air and a Drive-Thru might be enough of a treat.

Coping with a chronic illness flare

I’ve written about my chronic illness before and this month marks one year since I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, an inflammatory disease that affects a lot of things.  It affects my back, legs and energy levels and at the moment I’m going through some sort of hellish flare-up. A ‘flare’ is when your chronic illness is triggered by something and gets worse; it can last for days, weeks or even months.  I noticed earlier this week that my mood wasn’t great and my left hip had started to click and feel a bit odd; and within a few days my back, hips and legs were extremely painful.

Review: Guinness World Records Challenges game

Christmas Day is all about the board games in our household and the sillier the better – so when we were sent a copy of Guiness World Records Challenges from Megableu to try it looked right up our street. It’s all about testing your knowledge of Guinness World Records and completing challenges to make your way around the board and crossing the finish line first.
