Santa’s Grotto – Notcutts Maidstone Christmas 2017

Last Sunday we decided to go and check out Notcutts, our local garden centre which always has an amazing Christmas section.

**Warning – there are spoilers here! If you haven’t visited yet; please skip to the bottom of the page for information.**

We arrived just after 11 and decided to see if we could book a grotto visit – we were chuffed to be told we could book for later that day but there are no guarantees; ideally you need to book online before you go.

The Christmas department was awesome as always – so many decorations and lights and lots to see and do. Outside near the grotto was a little merry-go-round and a stall selling roasted chestnuts and mulled wine.

We checked in to see Santa(we call him Father Christmas but I went with Santa to keep it less confusing) about five minutes before our allocated time and we went through to be greeted by an elf who helped the mancub plant a magic bean and showed him the reindeer and goats. We then went and saw a special elf who turned our magic bean into a little Christmas tree before we were taken through to see Santa.

Santa’s grotto was gorgeous – it was a little log cabin with a Christmas tree and fireplace and we didn’t feel rushed or unwanted at all, it was a lovely experience.

Next you walk through a bedroom and through a wardrobe into Narnia and a gorgeous Winter Wonderland.

This was my favourite part by far, to see all the snow and lights was magical, there are plenty of places to take photos plus you can purchase photos from the kiosk after(you can have a professional photo taken with Santa and in a sleigh).

Cost wise I found it really reasonable at £10 per child and £2.50 per accompanying adult. The gift from Santa was great quality and overall we had great fun. There are still lots of dates and times available to book and it’s a great day out for anyone with children.

**UPDATE – I believe the cost is dependent on day/time – please check the website for more information.**

If you are going have a fab time!
