Every year I seem to end up visiting Santa multiple times and this year is no exception – we had visited Polhill last year with some mummy and baby friends and we decided to do the same this year and make it a tradition.
**Warning – there are spoilers here! If you haven’t visited yet; please skip to the bottom of the page for information.**
Polhill Garden Centre is HUGE – it’s around 40 minutes from me by car but is worth it; you could easily spend hours there!
We all arrived for our 12pm slot and we’d all got our Christmas jumpers on. As you wait to go in there is a little area with a wooden sleigh and photo walls with head-holes so the little ones had fun while we waited.
An elf welcomed us and took us through to see Santa and we all sang Jingle Bells as we walked through some Christmas trees into the grotto.
We looked through a window and couldn’t believe our eyes – Santa had fallen asleep by the fire and we had to be really quiet so as not to wake him.
As we walked into his cabin it was beautifully decorated with warm white lights, benches with faux fur blankets and it looked so warm, cosy and festive.
We woke Santa up and he told us a story and we sang a song. We were a group of 12 and a few other families had come in with us but it didn’t seem busy or rushed.
We were then invited to sit with Santa and have a photo taken before receiving a gift.
I remember this Santa from previous years and can honestly say he really is the real Santa – proper beard and all! 🙂
The walkthrough and visit took around 30 minutes and was so much fun – the cabin was freezing and I’d forgotten our coats; which was an epic fail when it was so cold so dress warm.
The cost was £10 per child and we booked online, the gifts were in boxes of good quality and we all enjoyed it – children and adults.
The photos were really reasonable and were really clear and professional – a perfect memory for years to come.
Polhill has a huge toy department, Christmas department, clothing and so much more – you can find more information and book the grotto here.
Overall fun was had by all and it truly was a magical experience – the elves and Santa go all out and I would recommend it to all.
Thank you Polhill – see you next year!
