Humanity is becoming increasingly conscious of how much it is polluting the world’s oceans, endangering marine life and harming biodiverse ecosystems. So, it is exciting to learn that shipbuilders are now using state-of-the-art technology to produce cleaner and greener yachts. YERSIN, a 76.6-metre trans-ocean explorer yacht, is one of the world’s most environmentally friendly and sustainable vessels, built to voyage around the world, without leaving a trace.
Discover YERSIN, A Trans Ocean Explorer Yacht With A Difference
This unique expedition motor yacht, named after the 19th-century physician and bacteriologist Alexandre Yersin, enjoys world-roaming toughness, with a range of 12,000 nautical miles. She can remain autonomously at sea for 50 days, and can last for ten days without discharging waste.
The definitive eco-friendly trans-ocean explorer yacht, YERSIN has been awarded with the Bureau Veritas Clean Ship classification, which recognises her minimal impact on any ecosystems she visits. Her Dynamic Positioning System allows her to stop where dropping anchor would damage coral, and she is ice-classed for an ice thickness up to 40 cms.
This next-generation expedition motor yacht benefits from optimised energy consumption, a catalytic exhaust filter and a sophisticated water filtering system, with recycled water used to wash down the decks.
Her robust exterior uses ultramodern green technology, and her hull’s silicone antifouling paint is TBT-free. Onboard, the crew use only chemical-free products, and there is garbage and waste sorting, plastic collection and recycling, in addition to a carbon offset programme. All the wood used is sustainable, with her decks made of artificial teak, which is greener and hardier than the real thing.
Minimal Environmental Impact
Due to her minimal environmental impact, trans-ocean explorer yacht YERSIN can venture where most vessels cannot, and can withstand a temperature range from between -20°C to 50°C. Her destinations range from the Baltics to the Pacific and Antarctica.
The YERSIN expedition motor yacht was designed to achieve three specific aims: adventure, science and education, otherwise known as the ASE project. She boasts outstanding explorer facilities, with a research lab, class/conference room, a media centre, professional diving facility and a medical room with camera link-up to a hospital in Toulouse.
Stylish And Comfortable Interior
Despite her research and education mandate, this trans-ocean explorer yacht is both stylish and comfortable, with a light and open interior that accommodates up to 18 guests across eight luxurious cabins. These include a VIP stateroom, two double and four twin cabins, each of which enjoys an ensuitebathroom and a top-of-the-range IT and entertainment system.
Other luxury features include a spa and gym, a private cinema, an observatory and a vast sundeck with a swimming pool. A six-level elevator provides guests with easy access to each deck. Equipped with a professional-grade galley, YERSIN expedition motor yacht has two large formal dining rooms and two elegant bars.
The YERSIN trans-ocean explorer yacht comes with cutting-edge equipment for exploring remote regions, including an aluminium barge, two Zodiac Hurricanes and a quad with caterpillar tracks for ice.
At last, a trans-ocean explorer that lets us discover our beautiful planet, without leaving a trace.
